Seed Search

We are always seeking "undiscovered" seeds from the Northeast region. If you have or know of any old varieties still grown by friends, neighbors, or relatives please let us know. We will help maintain that variety.

Typically seeds we receive are being maintained by the elders of our society. Often these elders believe that no one else is interested in maintaining these seeds, or they don't know who to give them to, and the life of these resources dies with them when they die. Next time you see a garden at an old farmstead, or in a neighborhood in a city, or anywhere, stop by and inquire if they have any old seeds. Find out what you can about them -- their history, origin, and use -- and send us a sample.

Through this act alone you will be helping to preserve the myriad of food and other plants which makes up our biocultural heritage.
